As a mature woman who is an empty nester , in a long-term relationship or alone, you may find yourself feeling invisible in society. As our children grow up and move on with their own lives, our roles as mothers and nurturers are no longer needed. It can be a difficult transition to adjust to, and it's easy to feel lost and uncertain about our purpose.
What's more, society often tells us that as we age, we are no longer sexually attractive. It can be tempting to spend time and money chasing a shallow image of what it means to be sexy, but the truth is, no matter how many cosmetic adjustments we make or how much time we spend in the gym, we can only be the best version of ourselves. And that's okay.that is actually great!
Instead of feeling depressed or inadequate, I've found it to be liberating and empowering to embrace who I am and focus on what brings me joy and fulfillment. I've realized that my value as a person is not tied to just my physical appearance or my ability to fulfill societal expectations. I can still be creative, passionate, and make a positive impact in the world.
So, to all the women out there who may be feeling invisible or inadequate, I encourage you to embrace your true selves and focus on what brings you joy and fulfillment. You are valuable and worthy, regardless of what society may tell you. Let's celebrate our inner beauty, strength, and creativity, and support each other as we navigate this new chapter of our lives
This can be a difficult transition to navigate, but it's important to remember that your value and worth extend far beyond your role as a caregiver. You are still a vibrant, creative, and capable individual with a wealth of life experience and wisdom to offer.
In this new chapter of your life, you have the opportunity to rediscover your passions and interests, and to pursue them with newfound freedom and enthusiasm. Take the time to explore your creative side, whether it's through painting, writing, or any other artistic pursuit that brings you joy.
It's also important to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, and to seek out support and encouragement. Joining a community of like-minded women can be incredibly empowering, and can help you to feel seen and heard during this transitional period.
Embrace this new chapter of your life with curiosity and enthusiasm, and trust that the best is yet to come.
Think back to when you were a child - what did you enjoy doing? What made you feel happy and alive? Maybe it was drawing, singing, or dancing. Maybe it was playing dress-up or building forts. Whatever it was, try to reconnect with that sense of joy and playfulness.
Engaging in creative activities can be a powerful way to access the wisdom and energy of our inner child. It can also help us to break out of old patterns and habits that no longer serve us. When we approach life with a sense of curiosity and wonder, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and experiences.
So if you're feeling lost or uncertain about what's next, I encourage you to take some time to reconnect with your inner child. You might be surprised by what you discover.
P.S. I have developed a set of exercises to help you reconnect with your inner child during our one-on-one mentor sessions.
